Between the months of March and July 2011 I recorded a group of solo tenor saxophone pieces in various locations on Governors Island. I compiled them into a CD and made this installation and performance piece to accompany them. The CD played through the headphones in Brass' ears and additional headphones were provided for visitors. Brass stayed in this position in the chair for approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes. At the mid-point Brass woke up and cut pineapple for visitors and then played the saxophone for thirty minutes. After finishing, Brass resumed this reclined position. The event took place during the LMCC Open Studio Weekend on July 16, 2011 in Building 110 on Governors Island. Between 600-800 visitors came through the studios that day.
